Bull Moose Tube's DF-100 extra high strength tube, produced with Swedish Steel's Domex 100 XF ®, allows innovative designs and uses never before possible with lesser strength tube. The extra high strength creates an opportunity to use longer and stronger sections, which can decrease weight, increase performance, and open the doors to cost savings and value-added application ideas. Ideal applications of DF-100 include items that move or lift materials/people, where lighter weight and/or increased strength and wear are needed.

Bull Moose Tube utilizes the unique direct form process to produce DF-100. Since the direct form process involves no cold working of the sidewalls, residual stress in DF-100 is minimual in comparison to other ERW processes whereby the steel strip is first formed into a round tube before being formed into a square or rectangle section. The direct form process is also essential to keeping the larger sizes of DF-100 well within the A500 dimensional tolerances.

As a result of direct forming, Bull Moose Tube has tighter tolerances on twist, camber, and O.D. tolerances such as convexity and concavity, and has the ability to make deep rectangles rarely manufactured in the industry. Low carbon, phosphorus, and sulfur content provide excellent formability and allow trouble-free welding without preheating.

Weather Resistant Extra High Strength Tubing:
For applications where high strength combined with corrosion resistance are needed, Bull Moose offers tubing produced with Swedish Steel’s Domex 80 W, a weather resistant extra high strength steel. Application include steel bridges, container frame structures, vehicle underbodies, rail cars and lighting, cable and sign supporting poles.
