Bull Moose Tube has the capability of Ultrasonically testing a wide array of Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) employing a state of the art on-line Ultrasonic Tester.

Bull Moose customers buying HSS for end uses where weld integrity is paramount, have the option to specify Ultrasonic Testing. End use applications requiring UT HSS may include, Roll Over Protection (ROPS) for heavy construction and farm machinery, guard rail, and many others where weld integrity is important.

This unit performs Immersed Ultrasonic Examination by the reflection method using pulsed longitudinal waves directed at the HSS through a water column at an angle to produce shear waves at an angle of 45 degrees. Two transducers are utilized, one on either side of the weld zone. Inspection is continuous as HSS moves under the inspection station.
